Fait pour ça! - David Merveille

My favourite French publisher Les Editions de Rouergue have created yet another gorgeous book called Fait pour ça! It tells the story of a lion in a circus that decides to go back to the wild and chews on a couple of people on the way. The book entegrates the text with the illustration in a very literal way on each spread. Fait pour ça! was published in 2004 and you can buy a copy here.

It's not often you see a fun children's book that has both a great moral AND a high body count. And the interaction between the wonderful illustrations and the text is just the icing on the cake. Absolutely terrific!

I have this book, and never noticed how on EVERY SINGLE PAGE, the text is integrated into the illustration!! I am not an unobservant person... it's just that what really drew my attention was the carnage and blood on every page — so funny in a kid's book!!
